Happy Birthday: the Blog is Three!

Today marks the CarDomain blog’s third birthday, and since we figure internet and dog years are equivalent, that means our baby is legal to drink. But pouring champagne into the servers isn’t the best idea—hey, live and learn—so we needed another idea about how to celebrate properly, and after some quick brainstorming, Rob put us back to work. Well, while watching a Top Gear clip, I randomly mentioned I’d never been to London—and that was all it took. Rob yelled “Friday blog birthday in London,” cranked up the Clash, and before I could even finish my beer, we were headed to the airport for a flight across the pond. Now, CarDomain has a huge following overseas, so putting all the party details on our MySpace page wasn’t the best idea. As you can see from the photo, it got way out of hand, and while Rob and I are only nursing Pacific-sized hangovers, Ryan is currently sobering up in the slammer—because real gangstas can’t run fast. Hopefully he’ll get out in time for our flight. Thanks for reading the blog, we wouldn’t be here without you!

Caption Contest: This Week’s Winner!

This pic still cracks me up every time I look at it, so I wasn’t surprised that it netted nearly 400 comments. And while there were plenty of good ones—I got a particular kick out of all the variations on what Ford stands for—there can only be one winner. Of course, it doesn’t involve Polish people, dyslexics, women, or those inane “priceless” commercials, because all of those comments were tasteless. Stay classy, guys. This week’s winner is inner_logic, who came up with; “Yep, there it is. See, I told you if you put the tire under water you’d find the leak.” Bravo man, way to think outside the box. Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of our totally waterproof Caption Contest!

Vivid Racing Opens Facility in Texas

Our buddies over at Vivid Racing just dropped us a line, and while the majority of it was spent rubbing our Northwest noses in all the great BBQ and Mexican food we’re missing out on in the Lone Star State,  they did manage to squeeze in some info about their new Houston location. Local customers who’ve ordered hop-up parts online—think Brembo, HRE Wheels, Clutch Masters—will be able to pick them at the new distribution facility, and Vivid has partnered with local wizards DriverSource to insure that folks looking to get their new goodies installed will get top notch service. Head over to Vivid Racing for all the info on the new site and their gearhead manager, Todd Nall. He’s the one dragging the Porsche in the pic below…
